We have been happily married for over 25 years and have been residents of Prince William County for all of those years. Prior to that, John was born in Arlington, VA, and was raised in Loudoun County. Dana hails from the Garden State of New Jersey; she was a southern New Jersey girl. Between us, we have over 75 years of living and working in Northern Virginia.
For many years, John worked in the telecommunications industry, in and around the Washington Metropolitan area, enjoying the employment benefits of a growing community. We were able to assist our children through college into adulthood, and we now reap the benefits of enjoying not only them as adults but six adored grandchildren. While we have been richly blessed through all those years spent working in the corporate world, we knew there was some other place we wanted to be professionally – something else for us to do.
With John’s knack for interior architectural home decor and a passion for project work, he began searching for an opportunity to change the course of his life’s work. That is when we happened upon Made in the Shade and began our new journey – a journey that has provided us with an opportunity to better engage and serve our Northern Virginia Community. We carefully assist each of our valued clients in the selection of the perfect window covering, leaving them feeling that they do in fact have it “made in the shade.”
